3.1 TARGETED INTERVENTION (TI) PROJECT
To focus our HIV transmission prevention efforts on the highest-risk groups, namely truckers, commercial sex workers (CSWs), men who have sex with men (MSMs), and intravenous drug users (IDUs)

» Counseling for STDs/HIV/AIDS prevention
» Condom promotion
» Awareness generation regarding STDs/HIV/AIDS through Behavior Change, Communication session i.e. One to One and One to Group, Audio visual shows, Street Plays, Panchayat Sensitization Programmes and various other methods.
» Counseling for improving couple relationship
» Counseling on issues related with sex and sexuality
» Medicine to STD clients
» Peer education
» Partner management
» Referral network and linkages with drug demand reduction programs, HIV testing, DOTS and various other care & support services.
OWA has been running the project since March 2011 for implementing a comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention programme through targeted interventions with the mobile population of truckers and their families; to work with injecting drug users; CSWs, MSMs, the transgender population and young people. OWA has committed to support the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society.
A Blood Donation Camp was also organized in collaboration with R.K. Mission hospital in Itanagar under the Targetted Intervention (TI) Project in July 2011.
3.2. MEDICAL CAMP
A medical Camp for Hepatisis B test was conducted for the students of Oju Mission School, Naharlagun. R.K. Mission Hospital, Itanagar, carried out the tests on 22nd July 2011. The objective of the camp was to secure the health of the students and to educate them on Hepatisis B and to spread an awareness among the villages of the students.
3.3 CLEANLINESS DRIVE
OWA launched a cleanliness drive in the Capital Complex in collaboration with ImagIndia, New Delhi. Initiated the first event at its own premises at Naharlagun, it further organized the drive three times at General Hospital, Naharlagun on 27th March, 10th April and 24th April 2011.
